Having joined the financial services industry in 1980, Mike enjoyed significant early success going on to develop products and marketing services that were leaders in their category.  From 1995 he worked specifically with secondary life policies as investments, supplying expat advisors and working with and through offshore tax havens, notably the Caymans and Bahamas.


Having taken some ‘me’ time Mike is now back with a new business model which has at its heart his career-long ambition to give consumers, in this case life insurance policyholders, fairer and more transparent services and value.


Fifty-two years of hands-on, practical and results-oriented accomplishments in a wide variety of legal matters including SEC practice and compliance; insurance law with a focus on the life settlement industry, public and private equity and debt financings; regulatory compliance, general corporate law. 

Recognized industry thought leader, writer and public speaker regarding virtually all aspects of life settlements including life insurance policy acquisition and sale, financing and security arrangements, due diligence, regulatory compliance, securitization, and tax reporting.

Thirty-three years private practice; nineteen years in-house; general counsel, vice president and secretary of two Fortune 500 companies. Former U.S. Army - First Lt. Ordnance Corps - RVN. JD University of Michigan, 1971, Order of the Coif-cum laude; BBA University of Michigan 1966, Beta Alpha Psi Honorary Accounting Fraternity.

Jon Woods

Jon started his career in the audio recording industry providing marketing for one of main recording studios in the Midlands. His position was to promote the recording facilities to recording artists, record producers, record labels and TV and Film production companies.


He later moved on to marketing a major computer games development company and dealt with sourcing multi million-pound contracts with clients including Bethesda, Sony, Hasbro. 


He was behind the marketing of many hugely successful computer games franchising including Simon the Sorcerer and Call of Cthulhu.

He moved on to work at Sony Style Europe and became the European top salesman for Sony Style Consumer and then head of Sales Training and Operations for over 80 customer contact center agents in Brussels.

Jon began financial services his career in 2006 and has been working with life insurance policies since then, particularly life settlements. He brings all aspects of his knowledge and background into play as Chief Operating Officer ofLife Settlement Connect
